Inspired by Nature and Culture
Taking inspiration from the unique Maldivian setting, its culture, and traditions to create a design that is different from the typical generic design of the area.
It celebrates the strong Islamic architectural geometry of using clean lines and patterns, while addressing the special climatic conditions of the site.
We had the entire island to work with. The self-sufficient island was to house the resort along with its BOH facilities for staff and promote sustainability where possible. We planned a reception pavilion, a spa, multiple bars, and restaurants. The accommodations were designed to be a mix of water villas, in-land villas, and beach suites, each of which is equipped with its own private pool.
